The song 'Too Soon to Know'. I have always understood that Roy Orbison recorded it as a tribute to his wife after her death in an accident.A friend argues that it was always a Don Gibson song and that Don was the original writer and singer of the song. Since there is money riding on this I would look closely at the wording of your wager. Roy Orbison could well have recorded this as a tribute to his late wife even though he did not write it and it had been previously released by some one else. Don Gibson did write Too Soon to Know in 1957, and also recorded it. Roy Orbison covered it in 1966.
