Can anyone offer an intelligent opinion as to whether analogue amplification is better then digital amplification ?

Question #17764. Asked by White Pepper. (Mar 29 02 10:24 PM)

    Analogue or Digital?
I'll let you form your own opinion.
I work in the electronics field and find it always comes down to personal preference.
However, since digital is the newer technology and getting better all the time, I
don't think analogue will be around forever. Analogue to digital converters are already
    available.
As I always say to my customers, the engineers and technicians that design this stuff,
are today working on what we will be using in five years from now! Check out the second

One last thing, don't forget what happened to the Beta format for video when VCR's
    became a consumer product!

This new generation of digital amps won't just be smaller than today's models, they'll
run cooler, consume much less power and should be less expensive. See:
