    Before the 1930's Baseball games often ended in ties, why is this no longer done?

    As in all US sport there has to be a winner- Extra Innings are now played to get a result.
    A US Guru may be able to tell you how many extra innings before a game is declared a draw/Tie or is that decided by TV time allocated to the game?
