Where is the final resting place of Anne and Margot Frank?

    Question #18232. Asked by dbl_agentmomo.

    Brainy Blonde

British troops burned the camp to prevent the spread of typhus. A graveyard currently exists on the site of the Bergen-Belsen camp. Somewhere on the grounds, Anne Frank is buried. See:

Since Margot died before Anne, it makes sense that her remains are there as well.

Excerpt from an interview with Willy Lindwer.
"Possibly it was on one of those trips that I passed the bodies of the Frank sisters, one or both-I don't know. At the time, I assumed that the bodies of the Frank girls had been put down in front of the barracks. And then the heaps would be cleared away. A huge hole would be dug and they were thrown into it. That I'm sure of. That must have been their fate, because that's what happened to other people. I don't have a single reason for assuming that it was any different for them than for the other women with us who died at the same time." See:

Not nice to read, but very important, lest we forget.
