# How many jack%60s eyes can you see in a pack of cards (12, 14, 16, others specify)?

Question #18269. Asked by kk. (Apr 14 02 7:07 AM)

Jack Flash

In a standard pack of 52 cards, in the design generally used in the UK and the USA, both the Jack of Clubs and the Jack of Diamonds have two eyes whereas the Jack of Spades and the Jack of Hearts have one eye each. This gives a total of six eyes but the number must of course be doubled as the faces appear at both ends of each card. It seems to me therefore that the answer is 12. But the cards of a number of other nations have different designs (and different suits) so this is unlikely to hold good throughout the card-playing world.
