    In which country would you visit ancient Qumran?

    		Quimran is in Israel on the northwest shore of the Dead Sea.
    Famous for the discovery of manuscripts of Isaiah found in caves by 2 Bedouin shepherds in 1947 - Dead Sea Scrolls.

    		Qumran is in Palestine. It is a matter of debate whether that is part of Israel or a separate country.

    		Is Palestine a recognised country now?

    I think it's safer to say The Holy Land and leave it at that.
