I've been trying to find the year and the teams that played in the FA Cup Final when the ball burst.Does anyone know?

I'm pretty sure it was one of the games involving Charlton just after WWII

I was right - in fact the ball burst in both the 1946 and 1947 finals in which Charlton played.

To answer your question in more detail, the 1946 FA Cup Final was between Derby County and Charlton Athletic (Derby won 4-1) and the 1947 Final was contested by Charlton Athletic and Burnley (Charlton won 1-0). Both games went to extra time and the ball did indeed burst on both occasions.
