Chop - A backspin, defensive shot used to return fast services. Occasionally also used for drop shots. http://www.savitargroup.com/glossary.html Closed face - When the face of the racket is inclined slightly forward, tilted towards the oncoming {ball;} opposite of open face. http://www.stantoncollegeprep.org/Sports/Tennis/glossary.htm I'm not finding anything called a closed grip. The terms that do have grip in them are to do with how the racket is held. Adversely, I am not finding 'clean winner' in any of the lists of tennis terms. However, it is used in articles and sounds like a shot that can't be returned. Not being a tennis follower, I have had to rely on the process of elimination.

I am from the UK and as none of our so called tennis players has managed one yet, I do not know what you would call it.
