    Ok,so what military shell,still in use today,takes its name from its resemblance to a fruit and I assume its not pineapple which is a grenade but isnt a grenade simply a hand thrown shell?

    		the grenade gets its name from its resemblance, in its early form, to the fruit grenadine, or pomegranate.
