We definitely have different accents from different regions in Quebec as in France. People from Montreal speak differently than people from Saguenay or Gaspesie. Older folks tend to have a stronger accent. Each region has a lot of very typical expression also. It's not that different from one region to another, we can understand each other. LOL Finally I have to say that we have a common accent that is very distinguishable for a person from France. I hope it answers your question. Feel free to email me if you want to know more. Au revoir!

Roxanne, I knew you answer and I thank you for your reply. A few years ago my son made one of his many trips to Canada. This was the usual tourist trail Niagara Falls,Toronto etc. He only managed a few days in Montreal, but he wished he'd stayed much longer. He raved about a Jazz Festival on the Old Dock Area - and we were looking at photos of the Notre Dame Basilica for weeks!! I've been promised a Canadian trip one day ,it looks so beautiful.
