In terms of sales that year, the top three are pretty eclectic. 1. was Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. 2. was, of all things, The Soundtrack from the Sound Of Music' (which isn't exactly rock, eh?). And 3 was The Best of the Beach Boys. Personally I think Hendrix and Janis Joplin had a much greater impact. Bob Dylan, too---if one wishes to consider him a 'rock artist'. May 22 02, 4:45 PM
