Scotland Yard is located in Westminster, London. The name derives from a section of the former Palace of Whitehall which was set aside for use by the kings of Scotland or their representatives.

No, Scotland Yard is in England. The back premises of 4 Whitehall Place were used as a police station. It was this address that led to the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police being known as Scotland Yard. The exact origin of the name is not clear and the following two stories have both gained credence at various times: See:

It is now called New Scotland Yard. From 1967 the Metropolitan Police Headquarters have been located at 10 Broadway, SW1. This is a plain aluminum-clad office block behind St James's Park Underground Station. Its most famous feature is the revolving sign outside, which performs over 14,000 revolutions every day. See:
