Who else apart from Beethoven composed piano variations on 'God save the King'?

Quite a lot of composers. Variations on God save the King written for piano have been written by Hummel, Bomtempo, Drouet and more recently Cooman (Kayser variations on God save the King/Queen). Charles Wesley composed variations for the organ as did Ives (Variations on America - same tune). Paganini composed such variations for violin (and probably these have been arranged for pianoforte). Onslow has produced variations written for a string quartet. If you visit a good music shop, they may well be able to add to the list. May 29 02, 9:47 AM
