There's some Hawaiian version of a classic American song that was key in the 'ER' episode where Dr.Greene died---who sang it and is it available for sale?

    Question #19454. Asked by Gatsby722. (May 29 02 8:25 PM)

    Kali

It was Over The Rainbow and What a Wonderful World, and they were performed by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, The song is availible on the Soundtrack for the Movie: Meet Joe Black, and on his CD called: Facing Future.

Thank you, Kali! I'm enlightened. I had NO idea it was off the 'Meet Joe Black' soundtrack! I will buy it tomorrow.

The above is correct as to the song. However, if you just want a copy of Israel singing 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' only, you can also find it on his 'Alone in IZ World' CD. Israel was a true talent, and it's a shame we lost him at such an early age. I love his music. Also on the CD I mentioned is a beautiful version of 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.' Gorgeous.

The classic Burt Bacharach song "Walk On By" has been covered many times by various artists. I am sure that I heard a version done in the 70's or 80's, by a band similar to Naked Eyes (but obviously not them). Does anyone know of this version and who the artist was?
