http://www.crimelibrary.com/jack/jackmain.htm A serial killer in London in the 19th century whose victims were prostitutes. There was much speculation that he was a member of the aristocracy and it was this protection of position and money that prevented him from ever being caught. In more recent times there was another serial killer in UK labelled with the same natorious name, but as I recall he was caught and is in jail as we speak, I could be wrong on that but I am sure the British contingent will be able to calrify.

Unfortunately, while Peter Sutcliffe has admitted to many of the deaths attributed to the Yorkshire Ripper, he still strenuously denies having performed others of them. And an anonymous caller claimed to have done these ones before Sutcliffe's confessions were public. So it seems that there is still a serial murderer on the loose.
