You have 2 plastic jugs filled with water. How can you put all the water into a barrel without using the jugs or any sort of divider and still tell which water came from which jug?

Freeze the water in one of the jugs.

I agree with mibmob but freezing both of them would be better as one would not try and melt the other as quick.You would be able to tell which was which, much longer, especially if the outside temperature was below freezing.

But if the amounts of water were the same and the frozen blocks moved around in the barrel you may not know which jug it came from so you should put food colouring in one of the jugs before freezing it.
