Apparently, the Old Testament lists David's children in three places and the three lists are different. I Chron 3: 5-8 Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, Ibhar, Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, Elishama, Elishama (2), Eliphelet, Eliphelet (2), Eliada, Shimea I Chron 14:3-7 Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, Ibhar, Elishua, Elpalet, Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, Elishama, Eliphelet, Beeliada 2 Samuel 5:13-16 Shammuah, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon, Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia, Elishama, Eliphelet, Eliada Unfortunately, I can't tell the boys from the girls!

Barrow Boy - I did say sons in Jerusalem and not the sum total of his children - so you answered correctly the first time! 1Chron v9 says 13 sons. He had 6 sons during his reign in Hebron as well.
