    Question #20056. Asked by Tom.

The can you clarify your question ? Are you speaking of ALL flags or just the United States Flag ?
The Union Jack is both the name for (For heavens sake please correct me if I'm wrong !!!) the flag of Great Britain and the name for the 'Blue field and star' portion of the United states Flag(In the Navy (in port) the Flag flies from the flag staff at the stern(the back end) and the Jack flies from the Jack Staff on the Bow (the front end)). The United States Flag is also kown as the 'Stars and Stripes' and 'Star Spangled Banner'
