In the early 1960's Groucho Marx did an ad for a Chevrolet. A Groucho Marx doll came with the car. What was the model of this car?

    DeSoto.

Groucho was doing advertising for DeSoto when they where the major sponsors of "You Bet Your Life" which ran on television in the United States from 1950 to 1961. DeSoto was the first sponsor of the show and remained the sponsor for about the first half of the show's life. So if there was a Groucho Marx doll released with a car it was most likely a DeSoto in the 50's, I would guess with the 1955 Fireflite.

I would love to know if I'm right or not, so if someone can confirm or deny my story that would be great, I'm very interested to know more about the Groucho doll released with a car.

There's a bit of conflict here. The question says Chevrolet, which is a brand of General Motors. The answers say DeSoto, which is a Chrysler brand (currently not active). In fact, it was DeSoto with a Groucho in 'civvies' so to speak. Here's a link that links to a run of the commercial:

I'll leave the Americans and Australians to work out the model in this 1958 ad.

    Was Karl Marx an atheist?

Earlier in Q#12904 I asked how many Marx family members had non-speaking parts in the 1931 film "Monkey Business." Someone helpfully pointed out that dad Frenchie and Harpo were two who do not speak. Does anyone know for sure whether Groucho, Chico and Zeppo all had speaking parts?

    Please name the Marx Brothers?
