I was not sure who to send this to and how to send it, so I decided to send an email to everyone on my mother's address book. I know some of you may already know this but, my mother passed away this morning at 8:10 am. Some of you may have known her as Carryll, Vivian or Finlady. My mother suffered for many years. She went peacefully and she is now with God, probably talking an arm and a leg off him asking questions..haha! We will miss her, but it was good to see her at peace. The obituary will be in the Eagle herald tomorrow. The address is www.eagleherald.com. Love to all, Liane (her daughter) I received the above e-mail today and thought those that don't use the forums would like to know. The obligatory question mark?

I posted this in the forums and thought I would post it here as well. I have just read the e-mail I received from Liane, Carryll's (Finlady) daughter. Carryll was the first member I got to know when I came across this site. Within in days we had exchanged e-mail address and have been in contact ever since. We exchanged cards, letters, pictures and spoke on the phone often. I just spoke to her a little over a week ago. I knew she was quite ill, needless to say I am quite devastated. We became great friends and I was even talking about trying to get to Wisconsin this summer. For those that did not know her as well, she just loved Fun Trivia and credited it to several of her many miraculous recoveries. It was after one of her many hospital stays she came across this site looking for something to exercise her brain and keep it active and vital, which it always was. Quizzical and minch, she was particularly fond of your quizzes for that very reason. I don't know what she enjoyed more, creating quizzes or taking them. If she had recently created one when we spoke on the phone, she would tell me all about it. She never had a cross word to say about anyone or anything, even when she received very rude and insulting correction notices. She was positively thrilled when asked to be an editor, and devastated when she had to give it up for health reasons. She was also a respected and well-liked regular of Ask Fun Trivia. I will post a note there, as many of Ask FT players do not use the forums. She never complained about her health, which was always precarious since I have known her. In fact, she cheered me up more than once during one of my many pitiful dramas. She was a beautiful lady, full of grace and thoughtfulness. I know she will be missed by her husband Roy who I also spoke to, her children, grandchildren, her many friends, all of Fun Trivia and especially me. Her faith was as strong as steel, and the world is a better place for her being in it. Liane told her many times, God just wasn't ready to give up control yet. Well. I guess he decided he could use some help after all, and is getting the best.

I was introduced to Finlady once, by Brainy Blonde. I never had an opportunity to get to know hes well, but even so, I am painfully aware of the hurt of losing someone dear to me. To BB, and all concerned, my thoughts are with you. Mark. ''Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my {life;} and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.'' (Psalm {23;} 6).

I posted this earlier and for some reason it is not showing. It was around the time the site was down for a short time, so that may be the reason. In any case I have decided to post it again. Thank you all so very much for your sentiments and warm condolences. The administrators in the forums have set up a link for her family to be able to view everyone's posts and thoughts. I believe the same has been done for this area from the member's homepage. Here is the link for Finlady's obituary for anyone that may what to read it. http://www.eagleherald.com./beyercar.htm Finlady's daughter Liane has okayed the publishing of Carryll's own e-mail address. Please feel free to write to their family with your condolences. I believe they are saving them up. The e-mail address is: vivian@new.rr.com

I am sorry to hear about Finlady passing away. My condolensces to her family and may she rest in peace. Finlady was the first person to send me a compliment on any of my quizzes. In fact she sent compliments on more than one quiz. It made me feel good when she sent me the first compliment. She seemed like a very kind and thoughtful person, her comments and thoughts will be greatly missed by this funtrivia player.God bless her and her family. Most Sincerely, William

My condolences to her family and friends. I lost my father nearly 2 years ago so I understand some of the pain involved. I didn't know Carryll at all but judging from her obituary, those who did know her must have been blessed indeed. Rest in peace.

I met Carryll as Finlady here at AskFunTrivia, often answering questions at the same time, or adding to what the other had posted. Through some question we discovered our proximity to each other, and that only added to the fun. One time the subject of birthdays came up, it may have been in the forums, so of course, I sent her an e-card for her's. Well, it seems that she thought her son, Bill, had sent it, only realizing her mistake AFTER sending me a thank you. That led to me becoming her 'other son' Bill. It became something of an inside joke with us. She called me one evening when she was in Green Bay. We talked about our families, trivia, and what-not for a while. When she told me she had to stay over night in the hospital, for a follow-up to some tests, she made it sound like it was no big deal. It was not until a week or two later, when I talked with Brainy Blonde, that I found out just how sick Finlady really was. She was something else, prefering to focus on anything other than her illness. Although we never met in person, I still consider Finlady/Carryll to be a friend. Her spirit of curiosity, joy, and caring will live on within all of us whose lives she touched. Fare thee well Finlady, my friend.

While I never knew Finlady well, she always had a comforting presence on the site, often the first person to offer compliments on new quizzes. She was in the forums, in ask.funtrivia, and served as an editor for a while. She will be missed. Webmaster Terry
