The American Regions Math League is a national high school mathematics contest that has been taking place each year since 1976. The 2002 contest was held on June 1 at Penn State, Iowa, and San Jose. The members of the 2002 Lehigh Valley team were Joe Johnson, Yan Zhang, Brian Holder, Kyle Super, Tim Lewis, Peter Fidkowski, Zachary Pierpoint, Vincent Roscioli, Jamie Macia, Jason Trigg, Shiyang Cao, Ameya Velingker, Mark Witmer, Max Staplin, and Numit Agrawal. The high schools which these students attend are Emmaus (4), Liberty (2), Freedom, Parkland (2), Owen J. Roberts (2), and home-school, and three middle schools, Orefield, East Hills, and Charles F.
