    This was the title of the first Duke of Marlborough (1650-1722) for his victories against Louis XIV early in the War of the Spanish Succesion. The baroque Blenheim Palace was built in Woodstock,Oxfordshire and was given as a gift to him by Queen Anne after the Battle of Blenheim (13August 1704).
    Sir Winston Churchill was born here in 1874.
