Good grief no! Charles the First was the last King to believe in it and he was executed in 1649 for trying to rule in this manner. Ever since, they have all toed the line. Nowadays, although Queen Elizabeth II is head of state in name she has almost no powers and is there almost solely as a constitutional check to prevent excesses by Parliament. She herself signs Acts of Parliament to make them law, but in practice has never refused to do so. The wishes of the British people are to have a successful democratic system like any other advanced nation.

However, she and all monarchs are anointed with chrism at their {coronation;} this is the oil which reminded kings that they had a semi-sacerdotal role and that they ruled by divine right.
