    Thomas Tallis %5BTallys%5D (1505-1585), one of the greatest English composers of the Renaissance period. Known as the 'Father of English Cathedral Music', he survived the political and religious upheavals of Henry VIII and was granted exclusive rights by Queen Elizabeth I to print music and music paper.
