I cannot think of any that were not serious. During the Falklands War, the British captured about 10,000 Argentine prisoners, all of whom were released afterwards. Argentina sustained 655 men killed, while Britain lost 236. Argentina's ignominious defeat severely discredited the military government and led to the restoration of civilian rule in Argentina in 1983. - http://www.yendor.com/vanished/falklands-war.html

The UK were also involved in the Gulf War, supporting Kuwait against Iraq.

Britain contributed to the Korean War, which was a serious war, but only with a very small force. Britain did not contribute to the Vietnam War.

It depends on what you regard as serious. They people involved in the 1975 Cod War between Iceland and Britain thought it was although http://www.p45.net/ejitsguides/iceland/2.html did not with the comment '1975 - Cod war with Britain. Many casualties, mostly fish.'
