What is the lartgest sculpture in the world?

Question #21032. Asked by tom. (Jul 31 02 6:24 PM)

    Siskin

The largest high relief sculpture in the world is the Confederate Memorial Carving in Stone Mountain Park, Atlanta.
It depicts President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E.Lee and Thomas 'Stonewall' Jackson. The entire carved surface measures 3 acres, larger than a football field. The carving of the three men towers 400 feet above the ground, measures 90 by 190 feet, and is recessed 42 feet into the mountain. The deepest point of the carving is at Lee's elbow, which is 12 feet to the mountain's surface.

When it is completed, Crazy Horse will be the world's largest sculpture. I could
not find an estimated completion date. See:

If the Confederate Memorial is completed before Crazy Horse, it will be the world's
largest sculpture. It is expected to take 3-4 more years to complete. See:
