Israel governments' policy was not to surrender to terror after the Palestinian organizations used hijacking planes as their primary weapon the security in El Al (Israel national airline) was severed after in May 9 1972 special I.D.F unit took control over Sabena airplane. In 1978 Israel forces rescued Jewish and Israeli passengers that was hijacked to Antebe. Since terrorist always seek the easy way to kill as many people as they can Israel planes are no longer an option.

Never isn't really correct In July 23 1968 3 members of 'The Popular Front for Palestine Liberation' Hijacked El Al plane en route from Rome to Israel and landed it in Algeria after 13 months under an intense international pressure the plane and the passengers were released. In September 6 1970 the same organization hijacked 3 planes of Pan-AM, TWA and Swissair the same day passengers and the crew of El Al plane en route to London foil an attempt to hijack the plane when they overpowered the two hijackers. After security was tightened in airports and Arab countries refused to harbor hijackers and the damage the hijacks made in public opinion, terrorists decided to move to other fields of operation.
