According to the dictionary a yacht is a power vessel or sailing vessel used for pleasure cruising and racing. That is about the way I would describe them. I always say I have two types of customers. Pleasure boaters and commercial fishermen. If you buy equipment from me that is not going to be used on a commercial vessel, you will be using it on a yacht.
