How did the Arena Football League start?

    Question #21373. Asked by afl123.

    Kainantu

The game was developed in 1981 by Jim Foster, who was attending an indoor soccer game. He found himself wondering: if you can play soccer indoors, why not football? Right then and there, with preliminary sketches and designs drawn on the back of a manilla envelope, Arena Football was born. Today it is the fastest growing sport in the world.
