For all you Royalty hotshots out there, here's one for you: Let's say, God forbid, all the Windors die/abdicate, how is the next royal family chosen?

The line of succession is not exclusive to people with the surname Windsor, so presumably whoever inherited the job - that would be the name of the next royal house. Or they might decide to keep it as Windsor. The important thing is the line of sucession - if you consider any of this sort of thing important.

And, as an interesting note, the family's real name isn't Windsor - that was changed/adopted during the WWI era as anti-German feelings were prevalent throughout the country (the real royal house's name is German).

Correct Ladymach29, the last name was: Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and changed to Windsor in 1917.The King also renounced all german titles at this time , http://www.didyouknow.cd/royals.htm
