Are ships still only given female names, and if they are, is this not sexist?

There are many ships which were named after males. I think the most famous would be Bismark, Graf Spee, King George V, and Rodney.

In the merchant marine, ships are named after anybody or anything which the shippers feel to be inspirational. Sometimes it's a concept of greatness, Olympic, Titanic, Spirit of Free Enterprise; sometimes a place, Normandie, France, United States, Bremen, Estonia; and sometimes people. I don't think ships have ever been given solely female names - in terms of shipping disasters the Achille Lauro and Wilhelm Gustloff are male names which spring to mind.
