    Good one SOHC!
    However:
..It seems like everyone is having more fun than we are. At Indian weddings they paint the bride's hands with henna, there's marigolds everywhere, colorful saris, great food. For us, again it's the chopped liver. And at weddings, we step on a glass after we drink wine from it, to remind us that there is always bitter mixed with sweet. A person could get hurt! During the end of the wedding ceremony, it is customary for the chatan to step on a glass wrapped in cloth. The cloth is to protect people from the broken glass and the glass itself is to acknowledge the destruction of the Temple.

Henna is nowadays very common ceremony made before the wedding, originally was done by only Yemenite Jews. In the old Sephardi synagogue in Amsterdam there was a stone in the wall the groom would throw the glass on it obviously the present method is safer. When the groom breaks the glass he say a verse from Psalms 137,5.

Always a fun occasion. But I have heard of grooms getting their feet seriously injured when the moment of truth comes. It helps if the glass is covered with something.
