    Prior to 1953, Coppertone used an Indian Head seal and the slogan "Don't be a paleface."

    At the start of its career, Coppertone had a picture of an Indian chief with the slogan "Don't be a Paleface." They had later replaced him with Little Miss Coppertone in 1953.
