WE need to know the context of this word. Normally it means when something or someone takes the place of another. For instance, 'at the wedding of Crown Prince Bob and Lady Sophia Hagios, the Queen, busy in Barcelona was represented by Sir Billy Bunter'. On the other hand it can mean a complaint. 'The workers, feeling the lack of bacon sandwich breaks since the new work rules, complained to the shop steward who made represention to the management'. Another meaning might mean re-presentation meaning that you show it again. 'The thesis was really awful, but after 18 months he was allowed to make a re-presentation of it'. 'THe cheque bounced and re-presentation, when the funds were available was necessary'. For a long definition look in a dictionary.
