Future biggest: The (CargoLifter) CL160 will be the largest lighter-than-air cargo airship in the world, and is designed to transport extremely large and heavy equipment and cargo containers. Classified as a semi-rigid airship, as opposed to a blimp or dirigible, the CargoLifter's exterior structure is supported by an inner ''bladder'', or ballonet, which maintains the shape and altitude of the airship by increasing or decreasing air pressure. Assembly of the first CargoLifter airship prototype will take place at the world's largest lighter-than-air airship hangar facility near Berlin and is currently scheduled for completion by the fourth quarter of 2003. http://www.aerospace.eaton.com/news.asp?NewsCommand=ViewArticle and ArticleId=1114 Zeppelin, Ferdinand, Graff 1838-1917, German army officer and airship inventor and builder

Richzooie says: 'LED' Zeppelin !!! LOL Sat Sep 07 23:30:22 CDT 2002 (Delete Entry) No the real answer is in this link: http://quest.braincompany.net/showproduct.php3?showmore=yes and ID=101 Can't find anywhere to support the 'cargolifter' now being the biggest, but other than this it would be the Hindenburg that burned and crashed to the ground and therefore halting this way of travel. Sat Sep 07 23:33:19 CDT 2002 (Delete Entry) Went to the 'Cargolifter' site but still found nothing as to whether it is bigger than the Hindenburg, did find a site in South Africa where a company were going to build the worlds biggest Airship but they are now defunct so I do not know whether they managed it or not. The previous link does not work ... something to do with the punctuation ... but if you put Zeppelin and biggest or largest into a google search you will find quite a few sites and loads more if you put airship!! With both links above, you need to replace the word 'and' with an ampersand and remove the spaces.
