    Is there a Miss Britain Pagent?

    		Up to 1998 there was a Miss United Kingdom competition, and the winner went on to represent Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Miss World. Since 1999 there have been separate Miss England/Scotland/Wales and Northern Ireland titles entering Miss World, and Miss United Kingdom is the highest ranked of these. The 2001 Miss UK was Juliet-Jane Horne of Scotland. www.geocities.com/pageant_2000/uk.html
