    Question #22561. Giraffe asks:

Does anyone know which mountain is the one pictured at the start of Paramount films?

    Tabby Tom

Many people say it is Ben Lomond (9,712 feeet) in the Wsatch range in Utah. But it may not be any actual mountain at all.

    Brainy Blonde

I found this at Paramount's website.

What is the history of the Paramount logo? Is the mountain real?

A: The Paramount logo was established in 1914 by W.W. Jodkinson, a former movie exhibitor from Utah who negotiated a deal with Adolph Zukor to distribute his 'Famous Players in Famous Plays' motion pictures. On the way to a meeting in New York, Jodkinson passed a building complex bearing the name Paramount and doodled a star-crested mountain, possibly from memories of his childhood in the west, and that logo later became Paramount's trademark.

    Pipipi

Other people says it's a Peruvian mountain, called Artesonraju.

Check the picture of this mountain in the link. It looks very similar to the actual Paramount logo.
