How many earthlings(it could mean humans, animals like dogs and chimpanzees etc)have visited moon so far?

Question #22598. Asked by clueless. (Sep 15 02 6:15 AM)

    Jac

12 men have walked, hopped or otherwise perambulated on the surface of the moon.
Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin were the first two, Harrison Schmitt and Eugene Cernan were the last. For each pair that walked, one man stayed in orbit - Michael Collins for Armstrong and Aldrin, Ronald Evans for Schmitt and Cernan. Ken Mattingly (who should have been on Apollo 13 - he's the character doing all the electrics tests in the film) made it on Apollo 16. So in the Apollo missions alone there are 22 men who walked/orbited (a couple did it more than once - Gene Cernan and John Young).

No animals, other than humans, have orbited or walked on the moon, unless you count the microbes in the humans' bodies.

Given that humans have selectively bred horses, cats and dogs over thousands of years, why is it that dogs show much more diversity in shape and size than the other two? In other words, the smallest and largest horse or cat are still "horse or cat shaped" but dogs seem to differ remarkably more in size and shape.
