Encyclopaedia Britannica includes the Caribbean in Latin America. It says 'the countries of South America and North America (including Central America and the islands of the Caribbean) whose inhabitants speak a Romance language'. It also points out that French-speaking islands in the Caribbean are technically part of Latin America as well, but are often excluded because people think of Latin America as Spanish and Portuguese speaking only.
