Surely you must mean 'Little Tramp' City Lights (1931) Charlie Chaplin's greatest masterpiece, the last of his totally silent films. As the Little Tramp http://www.filmsite.org/1931.html .............................................................................. In Modern Times (1936), the still-silent Tramp, with his familiar small Derby hat, mustache, large boots, baggy pants, tight jacket and cane makes his last appearance. Filmed between 1932 and 1936, it was directed, written, scored, and produced by Chaplin himself - and he also starred in his own one-man show with his current wife Paulette Goddard http://www.filmsite.org/mode.html

According to IMDb Movie search page, the last (but not necessarily final) appearance of 'Little Tramp' was in 1996, in a movie called Roaring Twenties. Admittedly it was archive footage, but how precise do you need to be? http://us.imdb.com/Name?Chaplin,+Charles
