The Ancient Greeks (c 1000 BC) and the Minoans (2000 - 1000 BC) seem to have had bull/cow based religion. I don't think any of the present cow religions descend from this, though.

We are talking 5000 years BC here. It is referred to as Ancient India now, but who knows what the primitive people living there then called it. Historians and archeologists call it The Indus Valley Civilization. It was one of the world's first great urban civilizations and flourished in the vast river plains and adjacent regions in what are now Pakistan and western India. http://www.harappa.com/indus/indus1.html
