"The business of business is business." Who said this; Benjamin Fanklin, Peter Drucker or Milton Friedman?

    Question #22849. Asked by I am curious. (Sep 27 02 2:28 PM)

    Tabby Tom

A good many websites attribute the saying to Milton Friedman, but I can't find one that gives 'chapter and verse'. Peter Drucker is credited with a similar saying, "It is the social responsibility of business to make a profit," but again I can't find anyone who says where or when he said or wrote it.
