The oldest club in the Football League is Notts County, founded in 1862. I'm not sure which is the youngest.

For completeness of the Premiership, the missing three are: Birmingham City - 1875 Fulham - 1898 Manchester City - 1894 But that still leaves the other 72 Football League teams I guess....

Division Three AFC Bournemouth - 1899 Boston United - 1933 Bristol Rovers - 1883 Bury - 1885 Cambridge United - 1912 Carlisle United - 1905 Darlington - 1883 Exeter City - 1904 Harletpool United - 1908 Hull City - 1905 Kidderminster Harriers - 1886 Leyton Orient - 1881 Lincoln City - 1884 Macclesfiled Town - 1874 Oxford United - 1893 Rochdale - 1907 Rushden and Diamonds - tricky ... Rushden Town - 1889 merged with Irthlingborough Diamonds in 1992 and a new club was formed. Scunthorpe United - 1899 Shrewsbury Town - 1886 Southend United - 1906 Swansea City - 1912 Torquay United - 1899 Wrexham - 1872 York City - 1922 So it looks like the youngest team is either Colchester United - 1937, or Rushden and Diamonds after their merger in 1992 (Lucky the boss is off today!) http://www.teamtalk.com - except for Boston ( www.bostonunited.co.uk/clubhist)

According to The Supporters Guide to football 1992, Maidstone United founded in 1897 were admitted to the League in 1989. This may be out of date if it's the latest to join the league you want.

By Pinchbeck's reckoning, which is perfectly valid, the youngest league team is Boston United, as they only joined the league this year.
