But do most Brits support your strict gun controll?

Most sane people think that we don't want guns in the home to be a normal part of UK life, unlike the US attitude. However, those who shoot (and I am one) do not support the 1997 amendment that banned .22s from gun clubs. We now have no legal cartridge shooting in Great Britain, and there goes one of the things we used to be quite good at in the Olympics and Commonwealth Games! I only shoot at a rifle club (which I grew up doing, my dad helped build the place!) and we've never kept guns in our home(s). Some people need to - farmers etc - but on the whole I think we'd prefer it kept as a target sport, and thus well regulated and guns kept in secure premises.
