Futurama is set in the year 3000. Star Trek is set in the 2280s with Star Trek TNG being set in the 2360s. Flash Gordon as defined in the 1950's TV series was set in 2203 (although a continuity mistake in one episode set it in the year 3063. Babylon 5 took place in the year 2258. The strangest thing is the discrepancy in Planet of the Apes. The original book was in the year 2500. The 1960's film took place in 3978, but the 2001 film is set in 2029!
