    In WWII graffiti saying 'Kilroy was here' was often found in and around American bases. Who was Kilroy?

    James J. Kilroy was a shipyard inspector in Boston during WWII. He wrote the phrase 'Kilroy was here' to indicate that he had been aboard and inspected the riveting and bulkheads.

    It's not actually proven that this is the real Kilroy , he's just the one that came forward when the search for Kilroy was made , there is evidence that he exists under different names in several other countries ,
