Cappichino is named afted its creator the Cappichin Friars. How did the Friars get their name?

Question #23188. Asked by Mr. Roboto. (Oct 13 02 5:57 AM)

    Tabby Tom

A capuche is a hood or cowl (the word is derived ultimately from the Late Latin 'cappa', meaning a cape or cloak). The Capuchin friars were so called because of their prominent pointed cowls.

Although Cappucino is named after the Cappuchin Friars, it is not because they invented it. It is because it is the same colour as their habits.
