Biblically, nothing. (There are indeed Christians who would argue that there is nothing in the Scriptures to support the celebration of Christmas). Green is the colour of many of the Pagan aspects of the festive season: Holly, mistletoe, Christmas trees {etc;} Red, of course, represents Santa Claus, or possibly the blood of Christ... I'm unaware of any 'official' reason why these two colours represent this holiday... Anyone know better?

No, student. Christmas and war bear no relation to each other. Jesus said, 'Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself'. Christmas is a time for peace on Earth, and to celebrate the Saviour's birth.

As Norwich says, there's no obvious connection between Christmas and war. However, in the old carol 'The Holly and the Ivy', the holly berry symbolizes Christ's blood, which according to Christians was shed for the redemption of mankind. 'The holly bears a berry As red as any blood, And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ To do poor sinners good.' This symbolism is obviously not as ancient as using the green leaves to symbolize continuing life, but symbolism does tend to develop and change with the passage of time.
