The human head has from 100,000 to 150,000 hairs. The average life span of a strand of hair is 5 to 6 years. http://www.hairus.com/echem.html Lets assume on has a full head of hair to start with on day one. In 6 years time at age 6 all of the hair on one's head has been replaced. Meaning that the head has grown another 100,00 to 150,00 hairs by age 6 At age 12 yet another 100,000 to 150,000 has been replaced and at age 18 another 100,000 to 150,000 has been replaced etc etc etc If one lives to 60 (10x6) then that is 10 times 100,000 to 10 times 150,000 Meaning that at age 60 one has grown between 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 hairs on one's head Give or take one or two or even three. Perhaps four or even five.............

But the average person has hairs all over their body, not just on their head. These hairs are usually very fine and virtually invisible, but they would still count! So those estimates are way too low.

If there are 100,000 to 150,000 hairs on your head, who has walked off with 75,000 to 125,000 of mine then. The only 'good' thing about it is, that because of it, I now look like my alias.
