    I have six pieces of chain, each piece made up of 4 links, and I want to make a single straight chain out of them. The blacksmith charges 10 cents for cutting each link and 50 cents for welding a link. How much will the chain cost?

    		2 dollars 40 cents.
    Cut all 4 links of one of your pieces of chain, and make the 4 joins necessary to connect the remaining 5 pieces of chain. 4 cuts and 4 welds.
